Say hello to gothic Cate Blanchett. Her costume as powerful witch Florence Zimmerman in The House with a Clock in its Walls was created by Madonna’s longtime stylist Marlene Stewart - don’t go expecting pointy bras though; they’re out, and deep purples and lace accents are in.

The costumes in Bohemian Rhapsody are Authentic-with-a-capital-A. The team worked with Queen’s official archivist Greg Brooks to get every detail right - down to the very socks. “‘What photos do you have of Roger's socks, Greg?' is the type of question that came at me,” he’s said. “And that wasn't even one of the strangest.”

1920s Parisian style
The beasts aren’t the only fantastic things in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald – the clothes are pretty spectacular, too. Think Parisian chic with a sprinkle of Wizarding World magic; here are a selection of details to look out for:
Jude Law as Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Jude Law plays young Dumbledore in the new film and he had a hand in choosing the character’s costumes too. Designer Colleen Atwood told Collider that Law had an image of Dumbledore as the favourite teacher that all the kids liked, so she wanted to show off his approachable manner through his style, choosing greys and softer tones and textures for his clothes to give them a lived in feel.
Eddie Redmayne???s back as Newt Scamander Dumbledore’s not the only one sporting a new look - the new film sees Newt Scamander upgrade his iconic blue coat to a sophisticated grey one. This one’s more ‘urban’, Atwood said, but includes touches of the old style: in some light, you can catch specks of the old blue in it.
The Hogwarts uniform gets a vintage twist in the new film Even the famous Hogwarts uniform had to be switched up for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald to reflect the 1920s setting. Atwood explained that she designed a longer skirt and ankle boots for the new film, and added a bit of velvet trim to the robes with the house colours inside the hoods.

Fusion fashion
Hoop skirts and eastern style collide in the Lincoln Center Theatre’s stage production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic musical The King and I, coming to the big screen this November. It’s a huge, opulent show, with burnished gold sets and ravishing costumes by Catherine Zuber, who won a Tony Award for her designs.
